FAQ

Answers to the most commonly asked questions about NP Screen

Can NP Screen diagnose nasopharyngeal cancer?

Only a biopsy and laboratory evaluation by a pathologist can diagnose NPC.

NP Screen is best used in conjunction with other methods such as endoscopy. It is especially valuable in detecting early and obscure cancer that is not visible with endoscopy.

Can NP Screen predict the future occurrence of NPC?

NP Screen can only detect and assess a patient’s current risk. It does not predict future abnormalities.

Is NP Screen a cure for NPC?

No. NPC can only be cured by radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgery and/or a combination thereof.

How often should I take the NP Screen test?

NP Screen is recommended for individuals with signs and symptoms of NPC.

For individuals from high-risk populations, annual testing is recommended.

For patients with a predisposition for NPC (e.g., a family history), semi-annual testing may be considered when monitoring endoscopy is being performed.

Early detection leads to better treatment outcomes and survival.

Is NP Screen Approved by The US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)?

NP Screen has successfully passed the FDA review process and received a Class II medical device classification.

It is the first and currently only FDA-approved test for NPC detection.

How much will NP Screen cost me?

NP Screen is currently a user-pay test, available in the U.S. and Canada for USD$300.

Price may vary in other regions of the world.
